[Asteroid Series] What Juno's Sign Reveals About the Partner You Really Want

[Asteroid Series] What Juno's Sign Reveals About the Partner You Really Want

The asteroid Juno is named after the Roman name for Hera, Queen of the Heavens and the consort of Zeus in Greek mythology.

Juno's glyph looks a little like a small flower. In Greek mythology she is the guardian of marriage and family, and from Juno we can see what kind of partner we long for, and what kind of marriage we want. In some cases it can even hint at the sort of setting where we'll meet our partner.

Take my own experience as an example: my Juno is in Aries, and Aries carries the sense of taking active, initiating action — and sure enough, my current partner was the one who actively pursued me. My husband's Juno is in Sagittarius, and Sagittarius symbolises foreign lands; the place where he first met me really was overseas, and it was through religion that we grew close (he came to me for astrology, and I went to him for Chinese name numerology).

【Juno Through the 12 Signs】

1. How do I look up my own Juno?

A: If you use Angus's Astrodoor, on the page where you enter your birth data there's a ▼ Show advanced settings option. Open it and select Show asteroids (Chiron, Juno, Pallas, Vesta and Ceres), then submit and you'll be able to see your Juno.

2. If you're an astro.com user, in the additional options field on the birth data entry page, choose Juno from the drop-down menu and submit.

Juno in Aries

With Juno in Aries, your other half tends to have a more proactive, go-getting personality (think back — was your partner the one who made the first move?). You admire a partner with a strong sense of self, someone lively and full of energy, and in the marriage it will be your partner who leads the relationship. Your style of marriage is the independent kind, where both of you stand on your own feet and work hard towards your own goals.

Juno in Taurus

With Juno in down-to-earth, security-loving Taurus, you want a partner whose living conditions are stable. You place more weight on their ability to make a living and on material security, and physical health along with vitality in your sex life matters a great deal to you too. People with Juno in Taurus may well enter a marriage rich in resources, with their standard of living rising because of it.

Juno in Gemini

With Juno in Gemini, you need a partner you can communicate with. For you a good partner is the same as a companion — a good friend and a good playmate, someone you can have fun with and talk with, someone you can spar with intellectually. Bickering, debating, chatting about anything under the sun — you enjoy all of it. Rather than a quiet, silent, compliant partner, you prefer an other half who can go back and forth with you in conversation. You're especially drawn to clever people, particularly those who are quick-witted and sharp and can talk with you about all sorts of topics, and those are the people you'll pick first when choosing a partner.

Juno in Cancer

With Juno in family-oriented Cancer, you'll be someone who values home life very highly, and you also care a great deal about emotional exchange with your partner. Heart-to-heart talks and sharing your feelings with each other matter enormously to you. You want a partner with maternal qualities — understanding, thoughtful and caring, someone who values family. People with Juno in Cancer, male or female, have something of a mother complex, though the "mother" here isn't necessarily your actual mother; it may be the ideal image of a mother you carry inside you.

Juno in Leo

With Juno in Leo, your ideal partner is lively, optimistic and bursting with energy, and is a standout figure who shines and draws attention in a crowd. Ideally your partner should also be a celebrity/star in some field (they need a stage of their own) — someone with outstanding talent, a top student, well known in some area, or popular and at the centre of their group.
If they aren't a big name, they should at least be witty and funny; the quiet, silent, on-the-fringes, invisible type isn't really the kind of partner you want.

Juno in Virgo

With Juno in Virgo, your ideal type of partner needs to be attentive, earnest, hardworking and of service to others. You're also very practical, a real pragmatist when it comes to choosing a partner, so an other half with a serious personality and a plain appearance isn't a flaw in your eyes. What you particularly dislike are people who are all show and no substance, overly focused on appearance, or lazy and slack. You're also especially likely to be drawn to dedicated professionals with a serious attitude to their work, so quite a few people with Juno in Virgo meet their partner in a work setting.

Juno in Libra

With Juno in Libra, the sign of love and beauty, you'll expect a partner to bring beauty and an artistic flavour into your life, so you like an elegant, refined other half with taste and an eye for beauty (an appreciation of art, for example, or the ability to appreciate good music). Artistic talent is an extra bonus.
Libra rules aesthetics, so a good-looking partner is definitely a plus, but if they're attractive yet have no grace, no manners, poor taste and a fiery temper, then as far as you're concerned they don't qualify as partner material.

Juno in Scorpio

With Juno in Scorpio, the sign that governs sexuality, sexual attraction is your number one criterion in choosing a partner. Being sexy, having sex appeal, and being compatible in bed matter very, very much to you. Sexual attraction combined with an elusive, mysterious quality makes it all the more thrilling for you. Some people with Juno in Scorpio become fascinated by a Mr. & Mrs. Smith kind of relationship — mysterious, a little dangerous, and deeply compelling. Some people with Juno in Scorpio have a more tangled marriage, a mix of love and hate that is nevertheless full of attraction — though of course this also depends on the other planets and aspects in the chart, and you can't draw conclusions from Juno's sign alone.

Juno in Sagittarius

With Juno in Sagittarius, you may meet your partner abroad (a foreigner, or a fellow countryman you met overseas both count), or they may be a wise soul who is well travelled and widely read, full of wisdom, with a broad outlook and real insight into life. If they're also someone with drive and a spirit of adventure and exploration, you'll find them tremendously appealing. Some people with Juno in Sagittarius marry someone involved in religion (a member of the clergy, an astrologer, a fortune teller, for instance), or their partner may be deeply devout. *Faith here includes not only religion in the ordinary sense but also philosophical worldviews.

Juno in Capricorn

For those of you with Juno in Capricorn, looking for an other half is rather like looking for a business partner. You place great weight on your partner's competence, their ambition for their career, their pragmatism and sense of responsibility, and the perseverance to carry out their ambitions step by step. If you feel that the project of "running a household together" with this person would go smoothly, then they meet your requirements for a partner. How intense the feelings are comes second — after all, what you're looking for is called a spouse but is really a partner for life's business.

Juno in Aquarius

With Juno in Aquarius, you need an other half who is unconventional. The criteria most people consider — looks, height, job, income — aren't your first concern. Having character, having their own ideas, not following the mainstream, being independent and richly talented: those are what make an ideal partner for you. Sometimes other people find your taste in partners rather unusual, or think outright that your other half is a bit odd, but you simply admire what makes them different.

Juno in Pisces

With Juno in Pisces, you tend towards perfectionism in what you ask of a partner — so much so that it can become detached from reality, making it hard to find anyone in real life who matches your expectations. Be aware that you have a tendency to want to "remake your partner", longing to use your own "love" to reshape them into your ideal, but this puts a lot of pressure on them. With Juno in Pisces your partner will be someone with a self-sacrificing, giving spirit, and I'd suggest you look more closely at everything your other half does for you. People are rarely perfect, and neither is marriage; once you understand that, your relationship will become solid, and you'll be less likely to be badly disappointed by expectations pitched too high.

Those of you more familiar with astrology will certainly know that Juno isn't the only significator connected with marriage — other planets, houses, aspects and so on all have an influence too. If you'd like a more detailed understanding of your marriage patterns and the type of partner you attract, you're welcome to message me for a one-to-one consultation on your own birth chart.
